STRATEGI PERCEPATAN PENINGKATAN JABATAN FUNGSIONAL DOSEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN TINGGI PADA PERGURUAN TINGGI SWASTA DI KABUPATEN SUMBAWA

Data from the Directorate of Human Resources at Sumbawa University of Technology for the
2022/2023 academic year shows that out of 248 lecturers who have been employed as permanent
lecturers at the Sumbawa University of Technology, there are 108 lecturers (43.54%) who do not yet
have functional positions and 140 lecturers (56.46%) have such positions. Of the 140 lecturers
possessing functional positions, there are 109 Instructors, 28 Assistant Professors, and only 1
Associate Professor. Considering that there are still many lecturers who do not have functional
positions and the importance of the mentioned positions for campuses, this study aims to determine
the criteria and strategies for accelerating the increase of lecturer functional positions at Sumbawa
University of Technology. This study applied a quantitative method using the Analytical Hierarchical
Process (AHP) as an analytical tool with a population of 248 lecturers. By using proportional stratified
random sampling technique, 71 samples were determined in this study. The results reveled that the
highest score (0.524) for the criteria for accelerating the increase of functional positions for lecturers at
Sumbawa University of Technology was capacity building of lecturers. In addition, the findings of study
also showed that improving the productivity of publications carried out by lecturers was the alternative
strategy for accelerating the increase in the functional position of lecturers. The score of this strategy
was the highest score: 0.273.
