Abstract

The Research aimed to know the improvement in English Learning of students
on class V in Islamic Boarding School. Specifically, the research concerned on 1).
Planning students learning by applying lesson program of Bilingual preview-review
through Realia Media on English Lesson. 2). knowing the illustration of action
learned by the students, 3) Analyzing the improvement Learning Program of
Bilingual Preview-Review through Realia Media of students’ activity and students’
result. This Research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) by using Kemis and Mc
Taggart Model (Kusuma dan Dwitagama, 2010:20). This Research was implemented
at SDIT Samawa Cendekia Class V of Adh-Dharimi totally there were 31 students.
The technique of taking sample by using Purpose Sampling Technique. The data
collected in this research was a learning activity such as teachers’ observation
sheet, and students’ observation sheet, written test, and questionnaire of students’
reaction. The result of the research data statistically by using quantitative and
qualitative data.
The result of this research showed lesson model bilingual preview-review
through realia media could be improving students’ learning activity, namely in the
cycle I, the average activity of cycle I is 0 by category “very active”, there were 12
students or 39% by category of “active”. Students with category “active enough”
were 17 students or 55% and with category “less active” was 2 students or 6%.
Besides, on the score result LKS in cycle I showed that the average students’
learning result was 63 with completeness was 19 students or 61%, and
incompleteness was 12 siswa or 39%. The test result of cycle I with percentage of
completeness was 52% or 16 students and 48% was incompleteness of 15 students.
There was improvement in the percentage of students’ activity on the cycle II
students who have category “very active” is 65% or 20%, category of “active” was
25% or 8 students, category of “active enough” is 29% or 9 students. Besides,
students' learning result had improvement on cycle II, that was on LKS with students’
completeness percentage was 87% or 27, and for students who have a score under
KKM 75 was 4 students or 13%. The students’ learning result on the cycle II showed
completeness was 90% or 28 students, and incompleteness students reached 10%
or 3 students.
The result of this research could be summarized that Applying Learning
Program of Bilingual Preview-Review through Realia Media could be improving
students’ learning activity and students’ learning result of Class V adh-Dharimi SDIT
Samawa Cendekia.
