PENGAMANAN HUTAN BERSAMA MASYARAKAT PADA BALAI KESATUAN PENGELOLAAN HUTAN (BKPH) TOFFO PAJO SOROMANDI KABUPATEN DOMPU

Abstract

Forests are invaluable natural resources because they contain biodiversity as
germplasm, sources of timber and non-timber forest products, water regulation, flood
and erosion prevention as well as soil fertility, protection of biological nature for the
benefit of science, culture, recreation, tourism etc. The rate of forest destruction in
Indonesia threatens to reduce biodiversity. Threats and pressure on forests in
Dompu are currently at a very alarming level. The purpose of this research 1).
Describe the implementation of forest safeguards, 2). describe the support of the
community around the forest in carrying out forest shields in forest areas, and 3).
Describe the obstacles encountered in implementing forest security in forest areas at
the Toffo Pajo Soromandi FMU Office, Dompu Regency. The method used is a type
of explanatory qualitative research. Collecting data using interviews, Focus Group
Discussion, observation, and documentation. Primary and secondary data sources.
Data analysis technique descriptive method. Research results 1). Forest security
activities include detection activities, namely making predictions about conditions or circumstances regarding the possibility of disturbances to forest security and forest
products, 2). Giving management permits to communities around forest areas in the
form of Partnerships, Community Forests (HKM), Community Plantation Forests
(HTR) so that they have awareness of monitoring, protecting forests from all threats
while still being given guidance and socialization about forest functions, and 3).
Obstacles faced in protecting the forest at the Toffo Pajo Soromandi KPH Office,
Dompu Regency, namely the geographical location of the Toffo Pajo Soromandi
Regency Office, which is quite large with quite heavy terrain and the number of
officers who are not in proportion to the area being secured.
