Abstract

This study discusses the effect of implementing the almiftah lil ulum method in increasing reading
competence in the yellow book at the almubarok sumbawa Islamic boarding school. The purpose of
this research are; 1) to describe the implementation model of the Al Miftah Lil Ulum method on the
ability to read the yellow book in the Sumbawa almubarok Islamic boarding school, 2) to analyze the
effect of implementing the Almiftah lil ulum method on the reading ability of the yellow book of students
at the Almubarok Islamic boarding school in Sumbawa. The design of this study is to use mixed
methods (mix method). This thesis research was carried out at the Almubarok Sumbawa Islamic
Boarding School educational institution which is located at Jl.ponegoro RT/1 RW/11 Bugis sub-district,
Sumbawa sub-district. ulum. After that, the researcher will see the effect of the children's ability to read
the yellow book after the treatment is given in the form of the almiftah lil ulum method to the
respondents. As supporting data as well, researchers use observation and documentation. The
population of this study were all students of Al-Mubarok Islamic Boarding School with a sample of 40 students, with details consisting of 25 male students and 15 female students. Data were analyzed
using the SPSS16 application. The results of the study after being given treatment showed that in the
ibtida'(beginner) class the lowest score was 45 and the highest score was 85. while in the ulya (high)
class the lowest score was 80 and the highest score was 95. in the ibtida' class there were 3 students
(30%) who got less marks and there were 15 students (70%) who got good and sufficient scores. And
while in the Ulya class there were 4 students with very good marks (40%) and there were 14 students
who got good grades (60%). Based on these results, this shows that there is a significant influence on
student learning outcomes after being given treatment in the form of the almiftah lil ulum method. This
proves that the almiftah lil ulum method can be a new innovation in the pesantren environment to be
used in the development of learning to read the yellow book so that it makes it easier and more
enjoyable in the learning process.
