ANALISIS KINERJA POLISI KEHUTANAN DALAM UPAYA PENGAMANAN DAN PERLINDUNGAN HUTAN PADA WILAYAH KERJA KPH TAMBORA KECAMATAN PEKAT KABUPATEN DOMPU

Abstract

This study aims (1) to describe the internal characteristics and external characteristics of the
forest police in the Working Area of KPH Tambora, Pekat Subdistrict, Dompu Regency (2) To
describe the performance of the forestry police in carrying out their main duties in the Working
Area of KPH Tambor, Pekat District, Dompu Regency.
The research design used is descriptive qualitative research, namely research that
produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words intended to describe or
describe existing phenomena, both natural phenomena and human engineering. The data
collected is in the form of non-experimental words. , which is a type of qualitative research using
respondents and interviews. Primary data was obtained through questionnaires and in-depth
interviews with respondents selected by purposive sampling, as well as focus group discussions
(FGD). Secondary data was obtained from searching reports or documents regarding efforts to
protect and safeguard forests in the work area of the Tambora Forest Management Unit. The
analysis used in this study was a quantitative analysis. begins with measuring data categorized
from the highest score to the lowest score using the LIKERT SCALE to determine social
phenomena accompanied by an interpretation of the factors that exist in the field in the internal
characteristics and external characteristics of the forestry police and the performance of the
forestry police in carrying out their main duties at the Tambora KPH Office.
The results of this study indicate that (1) Internal and External Characteristics of the
Forestry Police's Performance in Forest Security and Protection Efforts in KPH Tambora, Pekat
District, Dompu Regency are obtained as follows, namely for internal characteristics the
internal value is 2 so that it is included in the Good category, while the external characteristics
are 1, 79 so that it is included in the Good category. (2) The performance of the Forestry Police
based on their main duties and functions is to supervise every action that causes forest damage.
To support these tasks and functions, the Forestry Police involve the community as partners in
guarding forest areas in the Tambora KPH Area.
