Abstract

This research was motivated by the low understanding and interest of students in learning
history, The purpose of this study 1.To explain the application of the use of the palace site in
Loka as a historical source for history lessons at SMAN 3 Sumbawa Besar. 2.To increase
students' interest in learning through the influence of the use of palace sites In Loka.3.To
improve students' understanding of historical learning.The research method used is a mix
method (a mixture of qualitative and quantitative), this research design is a quasi-
experimental design in the form of control group design. It is a control group and the
experimental group is not randomly selected. The results of this study analyzed the data
using the SPSS program version 22.0 from the results of the analysis there was an increase
in student interest in learning in the range of 74.4 – 91.0 with very high criteria. For the
understanding of historical learning students using paired t test analysis obtained a
significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000 with the conclusion that there was an influence on the use
of the palace site Dalam Loka as a historical source.The conclusion of this study is that there
is an increase in the average (mean) interest in learning history. There is an influence on the
use of palace sites in the workshop in improving students' understanding of historical
learning.
