MANAJEMEN PEMETAAN BERBASIS SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS (SIG) WILAYAH BALAI KPH AMPANG RIWO

Abstract

The Ampang Riwo Forest Management Unit Center (KPH) is a Technical Implementation
Unit (UPTD) of the Environment and Forestry Office of West Nusa Tenggara Province. The working
area of the Ampang Riwo Forest Management Unit (KPH) is an area of 47,877.37 Ha, with this
working area the mapping of forest areas is the most important part in planning and providing forestry
data at the Ampang Riwo KPH Balai. Mapping in the Balai KPH Ampang Riwo area still uses manual
methods starting from preparation activities, field mapping, processing and analyzing mapping data to
presenting the results of mapping which are currently no longer effective in terms of cost, time, effort
and accuracy.
To support and improve the effectiveness of mapping management, the Geographic
Information System (GIS) digital map of the Ampang Riwo KPH area is an innovation to convert
manual maps into digital maps that can be used easily and practically on Smart Phones for mapping
management of the Ampang Riwo KPH area.
Until now, mapping activities in the Balai KPH Ampang Riwo area still use manual methods
ranging from preparation activities, field mapping, processing and analysis of mapping data to the
presentation of mapping results which are currently no longer effective in terms of cost, time, effort and
accuracy. . To overcome the problem of management of mapping activities at the Ampang
Riwo KPH Balai, it is necessary to carry out mapping management by creating, compiling and
presenting a digital map of the Ampang Riwo KPH Balai area and based on a Geographic Information
System that can be used on the Smart Phone application so that field mapping activities are expected
at the Balai KPH Ampang Riwo. KPH Ampang Riwo is better and more effective in terms of cost, time,
effort and accuracy.
