Abstract

Paper Folding Activities (Case Study at Al-Mubarok Integrated Islamic Kindergarten). The research
objectives consist of; 1) to find out the efforts to improve fine motor skills through paper folding
activities at the Al-Mubarok Integrated Islamic Kindergarten, 2) to find out the efforts to improve
children's learning motivation skills through paper folding activities at the Al-Mubarok Integrated
Islamic Kindergarten. This study uses a research method with a qualitative approach. The research
design uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was conducted at TK IT Al-Mubarok in
group B which were new students whose fine motor skills had not yet been developed. Data collection

uses observation (checklist) and documentation. The sampling technique used was purposive non-
randomization technique. In using this technique, researchers can determine their own sample in

research based on characteristics that have been determined previously by the researcher. The

characteristics of the subjects used were that the subjects were new students in group B at TK IT Al-
Mubarok who were less developed in terms of fine motor skills and learning motivation. Data were

analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. The results showed that the average fine motor skills of
children during pre-action was 44.5%, during the first cycle it was 61.7% while during the second cycle
it was 81.5%. For the results of children's learning motivation in the pre-action of 45.6% and during the
first cycle of 58.8%. Whereas during cycle II it was 84.7%. Based on these results, there is a
significant change between fine motor skills and student learning motivation in providing paper foldingactivities. This proves that paper folding activities can be used by PAUD teachers as a way to improve
children's fine motor skills and their learning motivation in class.
