Abstract

The waste management is an important aspect in efforts to increase regional income while maintaining environmental sustainability. This research aims to analyze waste management strategies that can increase regional income in Sumbawa Regency, as well as to determine supporting and inhibiting factors in environmental conservation. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, literature study using the theory of James A.F. Stoner on management and service theory by Zeithaml, Parasuraman, and Berry. Then analyze primary and secondary data through a process of in-depth interviews, observation and document study where data collection analysis goes through steps in the form of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The research results show that the implementation of effective waste management can make a positive contribution to regional income, especially in Sumbawa district. Even though there are infrastructure constraints and waste levies have not been fulfilled according to regulations, Sumbawa district has succeeded in implementing waste management activities such as managing a series of containers, processing and final disposal. Apart from that, improving services carried out by the Sumbawa Regency Environmental Service will provide significant changes to regional income through waste levies.
