This research was motivated by the level of students' ability to write fable story texts which was still low even though students had been explained the material of fable stories. To improve students' ability to write fable stories, synthetic learning is applied in the fable animated film media. The aim of this research is to determine the steps for use, the extent of implementation and the effectiveness of the fable animated film media synectic learning model in improving the ability to write story texts for class VII students. The research method used is a mixed method (a mixture of qualitative and quantitative) through observation sheets of student and teacher activities in synectic learning in fable animated film media with samples taken of 64 students consisting of 32 students each for the control class and experimental class, student response questionnaires by analyzing the improvement in students' writing skills using the paired sample t test and the effectiveness of the synectic model of fable animated film media using the NGain-Persen test with spss. Based on the results of the analysis of the paired sample t test with the calculated significance (0.000) being smaller than the table significance (0.05), it was concluded that there had been an increase in students' ability to write fable stories through synectic learning in animated film media. From the analysis of the Ngain-percent test, the results obtained were 56.88% in the quite effective category, which means that synectic learning in fable animated film media was effective in improving the ability to write fable stories. It was concluded that synectic learning in animated film media can improve students' ability to write fable story texts because the synectic learning stages are able to develop students' creative thinking power and increase the cooperative relationship between teachers and students by contributing almost 60% to increasing students' ability to write fable story texts.
