ERGONOMIC FACTOR IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY IN TOFU SCREENING WORKERS AT UD. SUMBER MAKMUR

UD. Sumber Makmur is one of the MSMEs that produces tofu and tempeh which is located in Lempeh Village, Kab. Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara Province. UD. Sumber Makmur has been established for 22 years in producing tofu. In production, the work of filtering tofu dregs at UD. Sumber Makmur still uses traditional methods with simple tools. The work done is quite heavy, causing work-related illnesses and reducing worker productivity as well as the emergence of musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study was to find out the strategies for improving work-related illness from work posture, pain complaints and the workload of tofu dregs screening workers at UD. Sumber Makmur using REBA, NBM, %CVL and FTA methods. The results of REBA were found in four workers who were at risk of getting sick with a score above 6-8, which means immediate improvement is needed. The NBM results for the first worker were 59, the second worker was 72, the third worker was 70 and the fourth worker was 82. The results of the %CVL measurement for four workers at UMKM Sumber Makmur from the physical work load received by workers got results above 30%, which means the load is high and repairs are needed as soon as possible. The results of the FTA found that the causes of workers experiencing work-related illnesses were in the form of low screening devices from view, tools used did not match body dimensions, handles were uncomfortable to use, filter tools were quite heavy, activities were carried out repeatedly. The proposed improvement from the results of the FTA is to design a more ergonomic tofu filter tool.
