Abstract
This study aims to explore and describe the stress coping strategies used by transgender individuals in facing rejection from their families. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, where the collected data is described using words, sentences, and images. Data collection is conducted through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation as supporting methods. In this study, two subjects, namely GR and MS, are involved. The use of initials GR and MS is intended to facilitate the researcher in the interview and observation process, allowing for efficient research time. Data analysis from the interviews indicates that both subjects, GR and MS, explain various stress coping strategies they use to deal with family rejection. These findings provide a profound and descriptive overview of stress coping strategies, namely Problem-Focused Coping and Emotion-Focused Coping, with their respective aspects utilized by transgender individuals experiencing family rejection. This research holds significance in the context of developing better support services and a broader understanding of the experiences of transgender individuals facing family rejection. In order to optimize research outcomes, previous research references are utilized to enhance understanding and ensure the smooth progression of the study in line with the intended objectives.
