PENGARUH STRATEGI DAN EFEKTIVITAS KOMUNIKASI PENYULUH AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MEMINIMALISIR PERKAWINAN DI BAWAH UMUR DI KABUPATEN SUMBAWA

Abstract

This study examines the influence of communication strategies employed by
Islamic religious educators on the reduction of underage marriages in Sumbawa
Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the effect of the
communication strategy of Islamic religious educators on the reduction underage
marriages. Then, it describes the effectiveness of the communication of Islamic religious
educators on reduction underage marriages in the District Office of Religious Affairs in
Sumbawa Regency.
By utilizing a mixed method approach involving quantitative and qualitative data.
This research is also included in associative research, namely research that links
between two or more variables. Primary data was collected from 115 respondents
through questionnaires, observations and interviews.
The finding reveal a significant effect of communication strategies variable (X) and
minimizing underage marriage (Y) as indicated by the mean index score of 46.01, falling
within the high category. Statistical analysis further confirms the significance of
relationship, with a Tstatistic value of 2.059 > 1.98 and the P-Value of 0.020 <0.05.
Notably, the number of underage marriages cases witnessed a decline over time, with
139 cases in 2020, 44 cases in 2021 and 100 cases in 2022. Consequently, the effective communication efforts by extension workers have contributed to the gradual achievement
of the goal to mitigate underage marriages.
