Abstract

Sanitation is important and needs to be considered in preserving the environment and human health.
Government of Sumbawa Regency has several programs to improve sanitation such as Wastewater
System Management and Development and Solid Waste System Development and Management.
Asset maintenance and supervision are needed to continue to maintain the functioning of assets that
have been built. This research uses Qualitative methods and interpretative descriptive approaches
that aim to obtain in-depth data from a research object in the form of observations, interviews, and
documentation of supervision process and maintenance of the Domestic Wastewater Treatment
Process that takes place in Sumbawa Regency. Supervision is the stage of identifying problems that
occur in the field by recording, conducting inspections and monitoring, taking pictures, asking for
information with the community directly, which then results from identifying problems in the repair and
maintenance stage. Institutional conditions which function as supervisors and maintainers of the
domestic wastewater management system in Sumbawa Regency are still not optimal, which requires
institutional strengthening and capacity building for residential wastewater management at the village
community level as well as sanitation institutions.
