Motor Cross Grand Prix (MXGP) is a superior product that has strong competitiveness
to create a complete one stop media marketing so that it will be a trigger in bringing tourists
to Sumbawa Regency. This research uses qualitative research methods with research
respondents, namely local governments and tourism business actors as well as tourism
communities, the location of the study was carried out in Sumbawa Regency as the host of the
MX GP 2022 event.
The Sumbawa Regency Government opens access to information and promotes
optimally to tourists, and the strategies taken are publicity, advertising, tourism exhibitions
outside and within the region and the selection of promotional media used, namely, print,
electronic, internet media, or direct marketing. In addition, it also collaborates with agents
outside the region providing tour packages and empowering the Generasi Pesona Indonesia
(GenPI) community in promoting Sumbawa tourism and the results of the number of tourist
visits have increased in 2022 by 32,609, compared to the previous year, namely during Covid-
19.
Suggestions related to the research carried out, where all levels of society in Sumbawa
must support and maintain the security sector because regional conduciveness determines the
importance of tourism marketing/promotion strategies to increase the number of tourist visits,
both foreign tourists and local tourists.
