PERANCANGAN APLIKASI BARCODE TERHADAP PENGARSIPAN SKRIPSI DAN PEMINJAMAN BUKU PADA PERPUSTAKAAN FAKULTAS ILMU DAN TEKNOLOGI HAYATI

Abstract

This research discusses the analysis of barcode application design for thesis archiving and book borrowing at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology library. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of the Barcode application and to analyze the Effect of the Barcode Application on the Thesis Archiving and Book Borrowing Process at the Library of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. This research design uses a mixed methods approach involving quantitative and qualitative methods, with a research population of 353 respondents and a sample size of 71. The sampling technique used the slovin approach. Data collection methods included questionnaire distribution, observation, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that library users desire a new system. With this designed system, users will find it easier to access information related to the library, book borrowing and return, thesis archives, electronic reading services that can be accessed at any time, information on the availability of books and theses for borrowing, and efficient management of thesis and book archiving that simplifies reporting. There is a positive influence of utilizing the Barcode Application on thesis archiving and book borrowing as shown by the correlation test with a significance level of 0.54, indicating that when the Barcode Application design is successfully utilized, the Thesis Archiving and Book Borrowing Process at the Library of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology can improve efficiency and facilitate the identification and tracking of theses and books based on barcodes. So it can be concluded that the barcode application form that has been designed can be an effective solution in improving efficiency, accuracy and user experience in the process of archiving theses and borrowing books in the library of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology.
