Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the Tourism Sector on Original Regional Income in West Sumbawa Regency and to describe the Strategy of the Regional Government of West Sumbawa Regency in increasing Original Regional Income through the tourism sector. By making a policy of reopening tourism, there could be a great opportunity to offer tourism with a different, more attractive appearance, which in the end will make a positive contribution to Regional Original Income. The method used in this research is mixed methods; this research was carried out using two methods, namely quantitative methods and qualitative methods. From the results of quantitative research using normality tests, hypothesis testing and data analysis using SWOT analysis, it can produce a t test of 1.410685, which means the t test result is ≥ 0.05. This shows that increasing the number of tourist attractions has an effect on increasing local original income. And the results of data analysis showed that the t-test result of the influence of tourist visits was 0.801, which means that the t-test result was > 0.05. This means that the increase in the number of tourists has an effect on the PAD of West Sumbawa Regency. From the results of qualitative research, the results of the SWOT analysis can formulate a tourism development strategy for West Sumbawa Regency which focuses on aspects of community empowerment and increasing the role of tourism industry players.
