ANALISIS TRADISI PONAN PADA MASA COVID-19 TAHUN 2022 (STUDI KASUS DESA POTO KECAMATAN MOYO HILIR KABUPATEN SUMBAWA)

ABSTRAK

This study ams to describe the meaning of the Pasaji Ponan Tradition during the covid19 pandemic, which is regulary held by the Ponan community ( Poto Hamlet and Lengas Hamlet – Poto village, as well as Malili Hamlet- berare village, Moyo Hilir district). The research was conducted in the village of Poto , with the consiideraciton that the village of Poto is the location of the Pasaji Ponan Tradition. So, that the research focuses on the meaning of the photo village community towards the tradition. The meyhod used is a qualitative descriptive method with an interpretive paradigm and the theory of symbolic interation of the ideas of George Herbert Mead. The informants selected were the people of  Poto Village which consisted of 5 (five) charater charateristics, namely tradisional leadrs, and female figyres obtaindes through urposive sampling technique. There are 2 (two) types of data needed, namely primary data and secondry data,  primaty data was obtained through in-depth interview techiques, while secondry data was obtained by using library techiques , namely taking data from the literature in accordance with the research theme. The result of the study indicate that the Pasaji Ponan  tradition for the people of  Poto village is interpreted as a ceremony that touches the complex side of human life. The meaning of this tradition is divided into 2 ( two) groups: general meaning and special meaning. In a general a sense, the Pasaji Ponan tradition is a manifestation of socio-religious relation (hablumminallah wa hablumminannass). Whereas in a special sense, the tradition is interpreted as one of human efforts to abtain happiness.
