ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA PADA LIRIK LAGU SUMBAWA SEBAGAI MEDIA KOMUNIKASI MASYARAKAT SUMBAWA (Studi pada lagu Alam Sumbawa, Poto Tano, Barapan Kebo & Kapal Kalumpak)

A song is not only entertainment but provides meaningful meaning for the audience and listeners. This research contains a semiotic analysis of Sumbawa song lyrics (Studi of Alam Sumbawa songs, Poto Tano, Barapan Kebo & Kapal Kalumpak). The purpose of this research is to find out how the meaning of social values contained in the lyrics of the songs Alam Sumbawa, PotoTano, Barapan Kebo and Kapal Kalumpak. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The research subject in this study is the songwriter of the song. In this study using Ferdinand de Sausssure’s semiotic theory, where researchers make interpretations by dividing the overall lyrics in the song into several stanzas, then each stanza will be analyzed using Saussure’s semiotic theory. The result of this research on the first song Alam Sumbawa, this song has a social meaning that as a Sumbawa community, it is important to maintain, preserve the wealth of existing natural resources, then organize and organize Sumbawa’s nature to be good in accordance with Sumbawa’s slogan “Sabalong Samalewa”. In the second song Poto Tano, this song has the meaning of patience and sincerity, and has a spiritual meaning abaout soul mate, that soul mate is a desiny from God. Furthermore, the song Barapan Kebo has a social meaning , namely that Sumbawa’s tradisional events that are unique and different from other traditions must be preserved so that they are not consumed by time. Then in the Kapal Kalumpak song, again this has asocio-religious meaning, the tragedy of the overturning of a ship named Bahana Nusantara in 1998 is a true story where the tragedy is not a single human being who can predict, bcause death is a definite decree sourced from God.
