PERTUNJUKAN MUSIK SARAKAL KELOMPOK NURUL HIDAYAH DESA KARANG DIMA KABUPATEN SUMBAWA

Abstract

Music is communication and interaction between living things. Through lyrics and tone, music expresses feelings and messages. Music is the main culture in human life. This study aims to study sarakal music performances in the village of Karang Dima which are activities and social processes of the village community. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. Sarakal music performances have an important meaning in maintaining the socio-cultural life cycle of the local community. This tradition functions as an adhesive between families and between community members. This performance is part of their traditional or thanksgiving events, such as circumcisions, akikah, and weddings. This performance has become a custom for the people of Karang Dima village, Sumbawa district.
