GAMBARAN KEHARMONISAN PASANGAN PERNIKAHAN DINI DI TINJAU DARI USIA KETIKA MENIKAH

Abstract

This study aims to describe the marital harmony of husbands and wives in Dusun Punik, Batudulang Village, Batulanteh Subdistrict, taking into account their age of marriage. Marital harmony is an important factor for the sustainability of a healthy and happy relationship between spouses. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through semi-structured interviews conducted in the Dusun Punik area in Sumbawa. The study involved two subjects who got married below the age of 18. The results of the study show that the marital harmony of husbands and wives in Dusun Punik can vary depending on their age of marriage. Newly married couples generally experience intense adjustment periods in building intimacy, communication, and involvement in marital responsibilities. Couples with longer marriage duration tend to have overcome initial challenges and built a more stable foundation in their relationship. Subject AW showed better levels of intimacy and communication and was able to maintain a balance between personal life and marital responsibilities. However, the opposite was observed in subject PM. Couples who have been married for more than 15 years generally have a more mature marital harmony, and one of the subjects showed emotional maturity and better skills in resolving conflicts, working together to face challenges, and building a strong bond. In conclusion, the marital harmony of husbands and wives in Dusun Punik, Batudulang Village, Batulanteh Subdistrict is influenced by their age of marriage. Although each couple faces unique challenges, understanding and appreciating the role played by the age of marriage can help couples build a harmonious relationship. It is important for couples to continue communicating, supporting each other, and working together to maintain marital harmony.
