STIGMA MASYARAKAT TERHADAP MAHASISWA PENGGUNA JUDI ONLINE SLOT (SITUS BOOKEI7) DI UNIVERSITAS TEKNOLOGI SUMBAWA

Abstract

Among students, the practice of online slot gambling is very massive, we can find it directly in the canteen hangout, boarding house and others. This phenomenon will certainly be a separate view by the community as a counter to the routine of students should read, discuss and others that are productive. This slot online gambling activity without exception is also carried out by most students of Sumbawa University of Technology. This is the reason for researchers to research related to community stigma against students who use online slot gambling (Bookei7 site) at Sumbawa University of Technology. This study uses stigma theory as an analytical tool to determine public stigma against students who use online slot gambling (Bookei7 Site) at Sumbawa University of Technology. The research method used is qualitative research. Data is sourced from interviews with stigmatizing communities and students who use slot online gambling as primary data as well as records, documentation, about students who use slot online gambling as secondary data. With techniques, data collection uses observation, interview and documentation methods. With the results of the study, namely Community Stigma Against Students Using Online Slot Gambling at Sumbawa University of Technology, researchers made the following conclusions: 1. The Formation of Community Stigma Against Students Using Online Slot Gambling at Sumbawa University of Technology is due to individual circumstances in displaying negative behavior. Thus causing bad judgment from the community. 2. Forms of Community Stigma Against Students Using Online Slot Gambling at Sumbawa University of Technology is a stigma of individual character defects, namely the behavior of taking things that are not their right, like to issue dirty words, wasteful, addicted and even using prohibited items. This bad behavior becomes an inherent attribute of individuals that forms different and deviant behavior. 3. The negative characters of individual student users of online slot gambling that are actually shown by them become stereotypes in the view of society So that it becomes a negative stigma and is shunned in the scope of association.
