Efforts by the tourism agency to develop digital marketing for whale shark tourism to increase the Sumbawa district budget in 2023

Abstract

In each region there is a lot of tourism potential, precisely in the village of Labuhan Jambu, Tarano sub-district, Sumbawa district, which has new potential that can be developed, namely whale sharks. Whale sharks or better known as pakk torok by residents of the village of Labuhan Jambu, Tarano sub-district, are plankton-eating sharks, which are the largest fish species in the world. The appearance of the whale shark in the village of Labuhan Jambu is something unique and suddenly the village of Labuhan Jambu has become a tourist attraction for whale sharks. With whale shark tourism, it can improve the economic life of the community. Qualitative research in which researchers use naturalistic by giving a brief description and detailing identifying existing problems and deciding to solve actual problems. Tourism is being promoted as a tool for the welfare of the people, but here if tourism is not managed and maintained properly it will also not be able to maintain existence in tourist attractions. The results of the study show that as long as there are whale shark tours, the facilities and infrastructure at tourist attractions have not been adequate, therefore it is important to pay special attention to their development, both in terms of introduction and facilities.
