Aims to analyze the framing of LGBT news coverage in Republika Online, one of the leading conservative online media in Indonesia, this research is based on the importance of understanding how the media shapes public perceptions of sensitive issues such as LGBT. The method used is qualitative-descriptive content analysis to analyze 14 LGBT-related news articles published by Republika Online in the period from May to December 2022. This research uses the framing theory framework by Robert N. Entman as the basis for analysis. The results of the study show that the majority of news reports tend to choose negative and controversial issues related to LGBT people and emphasize religious and moral aspects as an excuse to reject them. The framing stages seen in the news include defining problems, diagnosing causes, making moral judgments, and making treatment recommendations. The stage of defining the problem emphasizes the aspect of abnormality and violating norms; the aspect of diagnosis of the causes shows that LGBT is the result of deviant behavior; and the stage of making moral judgments mostly states that LGBT is contrary to religious and social values and is a disease that must be cured, and finally, many recommendations for action lead to the view that LGBT cannot be given space in society in Indonesia.
